I've said it before, I'll say it again, God knew exactly what he was doing when he sent this baby girl into our lives. He knew. He knew I'd be alone. He knew the boys would be traumatized and grief-stricken with the loss of their father. He knew we needed the JOY. The sheer, simple joy a baby brings.
And this baby? Well, she's got a handle on joy. I do believe there is something just extra sweet about her that God gave her because of our situation. She's the only person in the world who I can never be irritated with. Yeah, yeah, I know. Just wait. ;) She's the one, who, when I've been short or grouchy with the boys, will make them smile every. single. time. They are head over heels in love with her.
Yesterday, the four of us sat on my bed, laughing our heads off, as Rory took her pajama top (which she was not yet wearing) and started spinning it around in the air above her head. Ethan and Silas couldn't stop laughing. The more they laughed, the more she laughed, and the crazier she spun that shirt. It was so hilarious. And my heart just felt full. It was a "less than a minute" moment. But it reminded me that our home, in spite of the grief and the pain, and the boys' longing for their daddy, is still full of joy.
God gives joy in many ways to different people. He gave us, Rory.

Praise God for Rory! He knew what you needed before you knew you needed it.
I know He has a plan for you Krista, and for your boys and Rory too. Rest in His love today.
