She's growing up!

My baby girl is growing up. I did not give her permission to do so! Sheesh! These last few weeks especially. She's acting like a 1-year-old!!
She's 11 months on Thursday. But she is definitely getting some 1 year old personality. She claps and dances. Her sense of humour is becoming more evident as she purposely does things she knows are funny and then looks at you with a cheeky grin and laughs. And even has a fake laugh that she pulls out when the boys are laughing at something and she wants to join in.

She definitely has a wee temper. She gets so upset when she is shut out of her brothers' room (it's only the beginning, poppet). And she also knows when she is playing with something she shouldn't. She had a rock in her hands today, one that Ethan had brought inside and I looked over and saw her with it. Ethan was beside her so I asked him to take it from her. Before he even attempted to take it, she was turning her body away and trying to keep the rock. She knew exactly what I had said and what it meant!

Cheeky girl eating blueberries for the first time.
I love this age! I love how she communicates with us. I love how her face lights up when either of her brothers walks into the room. I love how she crawls around the house saying, "Mum, mum, mum." I love seeing the independence emerging, but her reliance on me is still 100%.

I think of where I was a year ago, anticipating her birth, but in the most intense emotional pain I'd ever been in. And God sent me a pure ray of sunshine. Pure joy, she is! God was very intentional in bringing this little bundle of sweetness into my life. Into her brothers' lives. We needed her. And oh, how loved she is. Darling wee Rory, you are the love of our lives.
