This stood out today

I must admit, I'm pretty distracted in church, ever since I became a mother of small children. Either I'm in and out with one of them, or I'm trying to concentrate while encouraging quiet play in a pew in the back. Not a lot of sermons have really sunk in over the past almost 6 years.

But today, I caught something that obviously God needed me to hear. And it struck me in a new way. It's not a new verse. It's one I've heard many times. It's Romans 8:11.

"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you."

That power, that astounding, incomprehensible power, that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, is IN ME!!! It's in all Christians. But it's in ME. It sure doesn't feel like it at times. But I want to feel renewed. Renewed to live that truth. I want my life to reflect the awe-inspiring power that God chose to put in me, when I chose to live for him.

It's awfully humbling. And I feel like I'll just fail. But I still want to grow, and I pray for new growth and a new realization of God's incredible power and what he can do when and if I let him.
