Belly laughs

There are moments in parenting that are just so incredible, and they're so simple, yet they can melt and uplift my heart.

And belly laughs from an almost 2-year-old will do that. Especially when the reason he is laughing so hard is because of his 5-year-old brother. It was nothing I would have expected to be so funny.

Silas was lying by our kitchen table, beside the two small steps that go up into the rest of the kitchen and house. He was able to see all the way down our long hallway. Ethan was in the hallway, walking backwards, all the way to where Silas was, and then would pretend he was falling, backwards, down the two steps. He'd land in a heap beside Silas and Silas would just crack up. The anticipation of it got so intense that Silas was starting to laugh his little head off when Ethan was still a good 10 feet away.

It only lasted about 5 minutes. But it was the best thing I've heard in a long time.

(I tried getting it on camera, but my batteries need re-charging. Another time.)
