Yes, snow is a big deal today. Seeing as we have not actually seen this much snow in about 3 years was the first thing. New Zealand (in particular, our little Levin) and Victoria simply are not places that accumulate a lot of snow. Secondly, since we've been away from Alberta for 3 years, Ethan has never played in snow. My poor deprived little boy. ;) I'm in shock how much snow there is and of course, it's very wet, so it was perfect for building a snowman. Oh, it was rather scary to drive in, however. The west coast cities and towns simply are not prepared for snow like this. Luckily, other drivers were being as cautious as I was. Sorry, BC friends, but snow and BC drivers scare me. ;)

At first, Ethan wasn't so sure about it, but as soon as he realized he was bundled enough to not get wet (he hates being wet), he had an absolute blast. And I was a little emotional (surprise, surprise) watching him play in it. I so miss living in Alberta and this is one of the reasons. And who knows when we'll get snow like this again. I'm sure with the sun and 5 degrees Celcius that it's supposed to be tomorrow, it'll all be gone by Tuesday at the latest. Here are some pictures of our day.
