I cannot believe how busy life has seemed these past two months. Colin is done term 2 at school and is now on a 2 week break. He will spend much of that break at school, helping the kids rehearse for their Sydney trip. But it's still nice to know he'll be home for some of the time. The boys and I miss him.
It's officially winter here. We've heard there's snow all over the country today, though not here, as we're a bit too close to the ocean. It is bitingly cold today, though, so I'm not surprised it's snowy not too far away. It IS nice to know we can still take our Canadian kids to play in the snow, only an hour or two away. It's not like they'll be deprived of the white stuff until we return to Canada someday.
The biggest thing this month will be our trip to Australia, or "Oz" as our Kiwi friends like to say. We leave in less than 3 weeks. I'm getting a bit nervous about travelling alone with the boys, especially having to leave our hotel in Wellington at 3am to catch our flight to Sydney. Gosh, I hope I don't sleep in. :/ Ethan asks every day if we're going to Sydney today. He's so excited. It really is going to be a fantastic 5 days!
AND, we are officially New Zealand residents as of this past week. We had restrictions placed on our residency and those were lifted, as Colin has now worked full-time for the amount of time they require. We are free to come and go and live here for the rest of our lives. Yup, exciting stuff. It really does make this feel more like home, and that is good.
