The sleepover was a great success. I slept with the phone by my bed and it did not ring once. And I didn't even fret as much as I thought I would. Mind you, Silas was particularly exhausting, so that might have taken my mind off it a little. I'm going to go with the theory that Silas missed his big brother. ;)
We went and picked him up at 10am yesterday morning. My friend told me the boys had
"played very hard" after dinner, had chocolate cake and ice cream, she had them in bed by 7:50(!), they got to talk for 10 minutes with a flashlight, then they went to sleep. Just like that! Amazing. They had pancakes for breakfast (Ethan's favourite!) and were playing Candyland when I arrived.
Ethan got his stuff together very quickly when I came in the door and headed out with a very quick good-bye and a (prompted) thank you to his hosts. I got the sense that he had a lot of fun, but was very ready to be in his own space again, with his own "people".
He has only good things to say about the experience and I'm glad he had the opportunity.
