Every now and then, in the past month or so, I'll get these waves of sadness about being so far away from "home". I put "home" in quotations, because this is home, too. In fact, it's our only home in many ways.
I can't say I'm homesick. That would mean I had a home somewhere else, and I don't. I'm "people-sick". Heh. That sounds odd. But it's true. I miss people. Four years ago, when we moved here the first time, I missed Lethbridge. I had lived in Lethbridge almost my whole life, and it was the only place Colin and I had ever lived together. I was most definitely homesick for Lethbridge.
This time? Well, I guess I could be homesick for Victoria. But I'm not, really. I desperately miss my friends from Victoria. But the place itself? Not yet. I have too much processing to do still. The way it all ended for us there and knowing that the people who hurt us are still there... it just makes me feel "icky".
So, I'm "people-sick". I miss my friends from Victoria so much! Some of them I had only gotten to know well in the last 6 months we were there. I had a lot more growing to do with these friends. I miss my friends from various other parts of Canada. I miss our families. I really miss our families! I just want everyone to be here. I love it here. It would be truly perfect if everyone could just move here. Haha! Even Ethan has suggested such a thing. He's "people-sick", too. AND homesick. He actually misses Victoria a lot. I miss the Victoria we experienced up until the end of last July. That's where I'll leave it for now.
So, my dearest friends and family, when are you coming to visit?
