Such a full week it's been. Last Sunday, Ethan performed in his very first Christmas program at the church we've been attending in North Battleford. It was adorable. We have some pictures that I'll try to get posted soon. He was pretty excited and it was great that Grandma and Len could come watch him.
On Monday, we drove to Lethbridge for Christmas with my family. We drove our car AND Colin's mom's car, as we are hoping to sell our car in Lethbridge. In the month it's been advertised in Battleford, we got 2 calls. In the 3 days we've had it advertised here, we've gotten 4 calls. So we're much more hopeful. It would be fantastic if it sold before we left (in 2 days), but if not, my mom and dad are willing to let it sit here and hopefully sell in the next few months. They do live beside 3 high schools, so there's hope.
On Wednesday night, Silas decided to spike a fever and has been fever-ish on and off ever since. Poor guy is miserable at night and semi-miserable during the day. He won't eat, either. My baby, who eats or tries *everything*, only turns his head if you try to feed him anything. He's drinking, though, and that is good. Nothing like breastmilk to make a baby feel better. It's hard to see my baby feel so icky when he's normally so energetic and happy. I even medicated him last night. For those who know me well, you know I don't readily medicate my children, and usually don't even have any medication in the house at all. Last night, I went out and bought some Tempra and Silas got his first dose of meds in his life. I think he just needed a break from feeling so awful. But I didn't like it. I hope to not have to do it again for awhile. ;) Oh, and it didn't really reduce his fever, anyway. :/
Tonight, we have our Penner family Christmas. Monday, we will drive home and pray that the roads are okay. It's supposed to snow Monday. And then we'll start the Christmas "chaos" all over again with Colin's family, while we try and pack for our move overseas. We leave in a week and a half!
Oh! And our residency application was approved and our papers on their way to us as we speak. What a relief! And so very down to the wire. Nothing like just squeaking by. Oy. It's hard to believe we will be in New Zealand enjoying summer in less than 2 weeks!!
