Last of the 2013 Summer Photos

Waterton

Not often Mum gets in the shot

Red Rock Canyon

Cold water, but so fun!

The kidlets with my cousin, Daryl.  So great to visit with him, twice this summer, if you can believe it.  I don't think I've seen him since I was maybe 7 or 8 years old.

He told me he found my kids "enchanting".  I thought this photo was sweet, as he just helped without me saying a word.  I remember thinking, yeah, two IS better than one.  It doesn't often occur to me in my day to day parenting, because I've never parented 3 kids with anyone but myself, but two-parent families, be THANKFUL you have each other.

At Wally's Beach, about 45 minutes from home.  Best southern Alberta beach we've found in the past 3 years.

Busy river builders

Reinforcing the dam (although I did get to educate them on what a delta is when the dam gave way).

And finally, summer is officially over with the start of school.  My big grade 5 kid and my new-to-public-school grade 2 kid.  Man, these boys rock my world.

He was super nervous, but gorgeous as always.  He gave me and Rory the tightest hug when we left.  My heart ached all day.  By Day 2, he didn't want me to walk him to school at all.  Day 3, today, he also didn't want me to pick him up.  My boys are officially on their own on school days.  *Sigh*
