Smart or Wise?

I've had several conversations with Ethan over the course of the last year or so about wisdom, and what it means.  That it is different than being smart and knowing stuff.  It is having a heart that wants to know the things of God and knowing right and wrong, etc.

My Silas is a smartie-pants.  The stuff he knows and the things he draws and writes (his name, Rory's name), that I haven't really even taught him, astounds me.  One night at dinner, he said something, or was counting, or something that impressed me and I said, "Silas, you are SO smart!"

Ethan looked and me and said (wisely?), "But is he WISE??"

I grinned.  Someday, I pray he certainly will be.  Oh Lord, make my sons and my daughter wise.  All the smarts and knowledge in the world cannot truly teach them HOW to live.  Lord, please bless my children with your wisdom.  And may they grow to seek it.  With all their hearts.  And minds.
