Daddy

Silas loves Daddy. He, as his brother was, is a "Mama's boy", but Silas has a definite little "love affair" going on with his Daddy. I've never seen a child run so fast when he hears the door open at the end of the day, yelling, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" the whole way. When Colin leaves for work in the morning, Ethan says his good-bye and turns his interest quickly elsewhere, as he's always done. Silas stands by the door, waves, says "Bye-bye, Daddy" several times, tries to help Colin get his stuff together, gives hugs and insists on being kissed (usually more than one kiss). Then he stands by the window and watches until he can no longer see his Daddy anymore.

Once, Colin forgot to kiss Silas and Silas just stood in the window and wailed, "Daddy (kissing sounds), Daddy (kissing sounds)", until I ran out and beckoned Colin back to come in and kiss his son.

Tonight, Colin is at work at the restaurant. He's been gone over 2 hours. And a few minutes ago, I heard Silas yelling, "Daddy!" over and over and over. I finally went to see what he was doing. Yep, standing by the window, calling for his beloved. Pure adoration.

This is how I found them this afternoon, on Silas' bed.

How sweet is that?! My kids are the same way..total mommy's babies. BUT Gracie hears a truck pull in any drive around our house and she goes screaming, "my daddy home" "my daddy home" then she'll slide the sliding glass door open and yell for him. It's so cute except when he really isn't home. THen she just screams..lol
