It was Colin's birthday today. Ethan was completely put out that Colin had to work on his birthday. Ethan intends to "work at home" when he's grown up, so he'll always be home for his birthday.
We didn't do anything spectacular. Colin and I have both become accustomed to giving gifts wrapped in the "beautiful" bags the various stores we shop at put their merchandise into. In other words, we don't wrap them and we're lucky if the price tags come off. ;) And, since it was a rather busy day (and I hate baking), Colin got a lovely store-bought (but from a real bakery, not just the grocery store) mini lemon marengue pie for dessert. It was a "mini" pie because no one else in the family likes lemon marengue. Well, maybe Silas does. We didn't actually let him try. The rest of us had chocolate fudge. Colin can have his fudge tomorrow.
