Watching Dumbo
(Okay, short interruption. We rented this movie from the library last week. It's 70 years old. It's a classic. It's pretty tame, compared to a lot of the Disney stuff that's out nowadays. However, it does strike me hilariously funny that the part my two youngest children, pictured here, were giggling their heads off at, was the part that is actually on the screen in the photo. Yes, that is the part where the mouse and Dumbo are hallucinating all sorts of weird and wild elephants because they are DRUNK! Oh my. Last week, when I watched this with Ethan and Silas, I had to explain WHAT was going to happen when the alcohol accidentally spilled into the water barrel and the mouse and Dumbo drank it. Our first foray into explaining what alcohol does to your body and mind. It was a pretty tame explanation, ie. "it makes you act all silly and gives you weird dreams", but still. I had forgotten this part of the movie. LOL I still think it's a great movie. ;) )
