The next day, we hit the waterfront (via skytrain, which is always a hit), and Science World. I think I may be falling in love with Vancouver. Imagine that. I've never been that drawn to it before. But I felt a real peace in the days we spent by the water, playing in the playgrounds, wandering a bit downtown. Hm.
This cruise ship was the biggest I've ever seen. Very cool.
This is called "The Drop". Appropriate for the west coast.
"Digital Orca" Also very cool. The boys likened it to Lego, of course. We're a little Lego-obsessed in this family.
The Olympic cauldron. It was impressive, to say the least. And so neat to be where hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world had gathered only 7 months earlier.
I only got a couple pictures at Science World as I was more busy chasing children and keeping track of 3 going in 3 different directions than taking pictures. I got a couple of my girl at the giant plastic "pixel" board. It was my favourite activity and I've decided I need one of these boards in my home. It was rather soothing. And kept my kids busy for a LONG time. Two things I'm desperate for some days.
The rest of our time on the coast was spent hanging with my sister's family. We went to one of my niece, Avery's, volleyball games (where my boys learned how to be LOUD cheerleaders). And spent a day and a night with my friend, Amy-Lynn, and her family. They have two young girls and the kids get along pretty well.
Two day drive back to Lethbridge, another stop in Sicamous, and a much shorter drive from Sicamous to Lethbridge (in hours, not kms). Maybe everyone finally got used to the car. :) Oh, and the fall colours in the Rocky Mountains are simply phenomenal. I was speechless at God's beauty.
Happy to be back home. Back to routine and busyness and the switch in my brain seems to have "stuck". I am feeling much more positive these days than I did all summer. God knows just what we need, and that sometimes includes fun/stressful/chaotic/scenic road trips.
