Oh Ethan, you make me laugh

Sometimes I/we will tell Ethan something, and it isn't until awhile later that we learn what he actually HEARD. These are just two examples (the ones I'm remembering at the moment), but this happens all the time.

After a discussion he and I had about brushing teeth and getting the germs off and whatnot, he told his dad a few days later, "You have to really brush by your gums to get the "black" off." Yes, that would be plaque.

Today, while helping him with a sentence he had written, showing him which uppercase letters should be lower case, etc, we got to the end of the sentence and I asked him what goes there. "A pyramid!" Imagine, having to draw a pyramid at the end of every sentence you write. ;) Periods do seem a lot simpler.
