Silas is 2!!!

From this...

...to this, in 2 short years.

Yup. Today is our sweet Booboo's 2nd birthday. He was up just after 6, went out into the hallway and saw balloons. And that was it. We had to get up and come see the "boons". He was thrilled.

But where's Ethan? Ethan has to come see the balloons. Wake up, Ethan!

"Anan (Ethan) see boons?"

A tunnel! Silas has a "thing" for tunnels.

What's in here?

It's a...

...puppy!! Hug puppy!

It's Spot!

Next?

Ooo, a puzzle.

Party blowers

If only he could figure it out...

Maybe if he holds two at the same time...

There you go, Booboo! "Did it!"

At this point, we all got dressed and ready and went for breakfast to McDonald's. No pictures, but Silas was ecstatic. Yes, he's already been brainwashed into thinking McD's is the "be all, end all". McDonald's has done their marketing well with our children. "Donalds, Donalds, Donalds, hooray Donalds!" he kept saying. The boys had pancakes and Silas got juice, which he emphatically said, "Yeeeeaaaahhhh" to, as he doesn't get juice very often. Then they played in the outdoor (covered) playground for quite awhile, as it was raining today, so there wasn't going to be any outdoor play anywhere else.

We got home and I baked Silas' cake and he went down for a nap.

Also, all week, we've been trying to get Silas to answer "2" when asked how old he is. He wouldn't do it. Just refused. Today, however, when asked, he immediately shouted, happily, "2!!" He knew. He wasn't 2 yet. Smartie-pants.

When he woke up from his nap, we had cake! It was just us four, but a really nice little celebration.

Waiting for cake.

Happy Birthday to Silas!

Blowing out the candles. I didn't know he could do this.

And no 2 year old's birthday is complete without a little meltdown.

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to..." (He didn't want to sit in his highchair to eat the cake).

He perked up when he tasted the cake.

It's tiring being 2.

We all really did sit down and eat cake with him, he wasn't by himself. He just took a little longer than the rest of us.

And that is our "big" boy's big day. Now, Colin's at work, the boys are snacking, I'm contemplating dinner, and the day will be done. Onto the NEXT birthday boy...
