Happy Cinco de Mayo

No, I'm not Spanish, but there's something about the month of May, and feeling the days get warmer and knowing summer is just around the corner, that just makes me feel happy. We're starting to have more sunny days than rainy days and THAT IS GOOD!

For those of you who keep checking the blog for pictures, I'm sorry! Our laptop that Colin has borrowed from school needs a new cord (the other one was literally sparking - scary!) and that's the only computer we can put our pictures on. I have THE cutest pictures of the boys sitting on my camera right now and will post them as soon as I can.

Nothing too exciting to report, I just felt like blogging. Ethan, Silas, and I walked down the street today to the Moss Street Market. It's only about two blocks away, but is gaining popularity all over the city, so it's jam-packed. It's full of people selling organic veggies, homemade jams and honey and cheeses, and all sorts of artisans, too. It's fun and eclectic. Oh, and there was always the "famous mini-donut" stand. Well, they weren't there! Ethan and I look forward to these donuts every time we go. Hopefully, they'll be there later in the summer. This was only the second Saturday the Market was open. So, I had a smokie in a bun (Ethan just had a bun - the guy barbequeing the smokies was kind enough to just give him one for free. Ah, my silly boy, thrilled to just chomp on a plain whole wheat bun). As we were sitting on the grass eating, our neighbours came and joined us. They have a little 1-yr old boy. I've never really known my neighbours in other places we've lived, but I've been getting to know this lady, Lisa, for a few weeks now and she's so lovely. Hopefully we'll have more chances to visit over the summer when we're all outside more.

Oh, and a picture of the finished product will be forthcoming, but a HUGE thank you again to all of Ethan's grandparents and the aunties and uncles who contributed to his birthday and Christmas present - his new playhouse!! It is finally finished and Ethan is enjoying playing in it every day. We are still going to paint it with weather-protective paint. Ethan wants it all colours, so it should be really fun when it's done. And thanks also to Lorna (Colin's mom) and Len for all their help with it the weekend they were here.
